How To - Zebra (animal print) nail art

Wellcome to the Jungle!

Hey there!

It´s been a while since i don´t write anything, but i was kinda busy and also doing some research...
Ok, so first of all i wanna start saying: is anybody there?? cuz i feel kinda lonelly here, since i haven´t received any comments in my other posts, i´m starting to think that i´m writing for myself... which reminds me that old beck´s song: soy un perdedor, i´m a loser baby so why don´t you kill me♪♫ hahahaha!

Anyway... as you guys might´ve noticed... the theme of this week is (fanfarre) ANIMAL PRINT

Animal prints have long been a popular style for many reasons. For one, they are generally expensive and considered rather exotic; hence they are a symbol of wealth and status. Throughout history, kings and other high people have used animal print rugs and such as a sign of status just as mounted animals are kept as trophies. Animal print became popular for women in the United States in the late 1960s during the Hippie movement.
BUT...
Nowadays, the society´d realized that to wear fur is an act of CRUELTY , that we need to preserve the species, that animals are not meant to be coats, or shoes, or bags, or rugs, or trophies in a wall...
So that´s why i´ve chosen animal print as my favourite fashion tendence of the week... to honor animals♥

But let´s talk about HOW TO WEAR IT...

Since this is a very striking pattern, we´ve to know that it´s not going to be flattern for everybody...

If you´re petitte, try to wear it in a short dress, like the ones in the Fall 2010 Blumarine collection... try to be creative with the colours. turquoise, hot pink, yellow... even lime green! They all come along with leopard or zebra print.

If your´re tall...have fun wearing a pair of cool zebra leggins... or a fake fur leopard coat. Match it with a basic short back dress and red peep toes... and nobody will stop stearing at you!

If you have curves like me (i´m so italian!)...don´t worry! we still can wear this gorgeous print... but we gotta play safe! wich doesn´t mean that we can´t have fun! A basic white t-shirt, a pair of blue jeans can be super cool if you add a pair of leopard heels and a big hot pink hand bag... We can also wear it on clothes, but make sure of choosing pieces that flatters you and don´t make you look tacky.

AND LEAST BUT NOT LAST....

Men can wear it too!!! If you like challenges, get wild wearing animal print in sneakers or bags... or even in jackets like Brad Goresky, who wore a beautiful Gyvenchy leather jacket in the Mercedes Benz fashion week...

Wanna see something great??? I´ve learned how to make beautiful zebra nails, thanks to Kandee Johnson...i´ll post the video (she´s so cool!) and of course, some of my favourite zebra nails pics!

Get wild people... and respect animals, DON`T WEAR FUR!

Love, Val♥

PS: look at what happen if you abuse of animal print (haha)

And here are my gorgeous Zebra nails!!!

I ♥ 90´s!

Greetings, you stylish bloggers!

So, this week i´ve been investigating a little bit about the 90´s fashion... What can i say? I can´t help it... it´s kind of my favourite so far... or at least for this week haha!

"Pure grunge! Pure noise! Pure shit!"

The 90's were a decade full of cultural births; mostly in the music world. Even though the Grunge emerged in the mid-1980, it  became commercially successful in the first half of the 1990s, due mainly to the release of Nirvana's Nevermind and Pearl Jam's Ten. The success of these bands boosted the popularity of alternative rock and made grunge the most popular form of hard rock music at the time. However, many grunge bands were uncomfortable with this popularity. Although most grunge bands had disbanded or faded from view by the late 1990s, their influence continues to affect modern rock music (such as Post- Grunge, Indie Rock, etc).

My Life in the 90´s

Anyway, in the middle of the 90´s i was just a little girl (i was born in 1989), so i couldn´t actually live all of those things. What i remember clearly were those nickelodeon TV shows like "Clarissa explains All", "Pete and Pete", "Are you afraid of the Dark?", "Clueless"... i loooved those shows! I also liked shows liked My So-Called Life, Dawson´s Creek or even BH90210...
As my mom was very young at that time, and she´s also very very stylish, she used to dressed me like a little Courtney love sometimes... but some freaking times she made me wore those AWFUL girly dresses with ruffles... yuck!
About music... man! I used to loved pop bands like the Spice Girlsand Back Street boys... but believe me! Even though i was very young, i loved bands like Radiohead, Nirvana, Hole, Alice in Chains, etc.

Here are some pics of the glorious 90´s...

I used to love Friends too... how could i forgot Friends????
